Our mission at Boardroom is to help professionals find love. Since our launch two years ago, we’ve attracted people of all ages across South Africa and celebrated some heartwarming love stories.
With the launch of our blog, we’re opening a space to share what we’ve learned about dating in the professional world. Today, we’re revealing the job titles that receive the most attention on Boardroom.
Methodology
We analysed 8,469,323 swipe samples and cross-referenced them with occupation data submitted on the app. Given the diversity of job titles, we needed to coalesce similar roles into broader categories. With the help of AI, we were able to do this consistently across our dataset, giving us a clear view of which job titles had the highest swipe-right rates on Boardroom.
Finance, Health and Engineering came out on top
After reviewing more than 8 million swipes, a few roles consistently stood out. Among men, Consultants saw the highest number of right swipes per 100 swipes (18), followed by Medical Doctors (17) and Engineers (15).
For women, Auditors led with 24 right swipes per 100 swipes, followed by Medical Doctors at 23, and Marketing Specialists following close behind at 20.
When the data was combined across all genders, Medical Doctors came out on top with 21 right swipes per 100 swipes.
